Zion National Park

Let's get one thing straight; Zion National Park is absolutely stunning. It is however also incredibly crowded.

Zion National Park was a joy to visit for me and my fiancee. We drove in on a Wednesday night and after driving through the Utah desert it was a wonderful reprieve of greenery and majestic peaks. We drove through the Zion-Mount Carmel highway and wow was it fun coming out of those tunnels into a valley that shocks you with it's majesty. We couldn't help pulling off to take some side of the road shots

It was super exciting to drive into this park, BUT as we soon learned we wouldn't be able to drive through a large chunk of the park that included the hiking. In our personal opinion this is a great policy, it keeps people from being incentivized to drive through the park and leave rubber, oil and all sorts of other miscellaneous pollutants.

This does mean that you have a total of 3 options to see the park.

  • The shuttle system
  • Rent or bring a bike to ride up
  • Walk

Now realistically walking isn't much of an option because they aren't walking paths all the way up, so it really boils down to take the shuttle or ride a bike. The town outside of Zion
